All four are on the upper floors of our family home, with shared access to the rooftop breakfast terrace and small garden courtyard. Every room has air conditioning, a hot water shower, fast WiFi, and the kind of quiet that's hard to find this close to the old town.

A small but bright single room on the second floor, with a hand-carved single bed, a writing desk, and a tiny balcony that overlooks the lantern-strung alley below. Best in the evenings when the lanterns come on.

Our largest room, on the third floor with floor-to-ceiling french doors that open onto a private terrace overlooking the Hoài River. King-size bed, sitting area, and the best sunsets in the house.

A spacious second-floor room with two queen beds and a sliding door that opens onto our small garden courtyard of frangipani, lemongrass, and bougainvillea. Quiet, private, and a favorite of families with young kids.

Tucked under the eaves on the top floor, with a queen bed, exposed wooden beams, and a small private rooftop terrace. The most peaceful room in the house — and the closest to morning coffee.
