Four rooms, one family, and a riverside breakfast that's been the start of countless mornings here. Two minutes from the night market — far enough to sleep, close enough to wander.

My grandmother grew up two streets from where this house now stands. She taught me to make cao lầu the slow way and to leave a lantern lit by the window for travelers. We opened Sông Hoài in 2018 to share both.
Our four rooms are small, hand-painted, and quiet. Breakfast is on the rooftop — pho some mornings, banh mi others, always strong Vietnamese coffee. We'll lend you bicycles, point you to the tailor my cousin runs, and help you find the cao lầu shop that doesn't have a sign.
— Linh & family
Hand-painted walls, mosquito nets above hand-carved beds, and windows that open onto the river or the garden. No two are the same.

A cozy single with a small balcony overlooking the lantern-strung alley below. Warm in the evenings.

Our largest room, with a king bed and french doors that open onto a private terrace facing the river.

Two queen beds and a sliding door onto our small garden of frangipani and lemongrass. Perfect for families.
"Linh and her family made us feel like we were staying with old friends. The breakfast on the rooftop was the highlight of our trip — and we did a lot in Vietnam."
"The location is unbeatable. Five minutes to the night market on foot, but quiet enough at night to actually sleep. The Garden Room is everything in the photos and more."
"Linh's recommendations were the best part. She sent us to a cao lầu shop in a back alley that I'd never have found in a million years. Real Hoi An."

Linh runs Sông Hoài with her mother Mai, her husband Quân, and their two children who you'll likely meet doing homework at the breakfast table. The house has been in the family since the 1970s.
What started as a place to share their corner of Hoi An has become something they're proud of — and somewhere guests, often, end up staying longer than they planned.
